The P.I.G. Invitational Charity, Inc. is a non-profit charity (TIN #58-1828325) whose sole purpose is to raise funds to aid local St. Tammany Parish organizations that care for needy children and seniors. The late Ford Waters started the tournament in 1980 when he invited some of his friends to play golf followed by a neighborhood party and pig roast. The first charitable contribution was made in 1981 and to date, The P.I.G. (Partners in Giving) has contributed over $850,000 to local Northshore Charities.
The P.I.G. stands for Partners in Giving. The P.I.G. considers themselves a faceless organization. The P.I.G.'s sole purpose is to raise and distribute funds to the local Northshore Community. When you donate, sponor, and/or particpate in the P.I.G., your money will be distributed to many different charities and organizations within the community. The P.I.G. is unlike any other charity golf tournament. In addition to a tremendous golf outing played on a first class facility (Beau Chene Country Club) we host a post round awards party with food and an open bar following play with golfers and guests. Our post round party is attended by over 200 guests each year and showcases an amazing silent auction, great food, drinks, and live music!
The event now in its 43rd year and has continued to grow in popularity and influence within the community. The P.I.G. has hosted sold out fields of 128+ golfers that has resulted in net proceeds in excess of $50,000 in each of the last 12 years. Our board is 100% voluntary and all net proceeds are donated to local charities shortly after the event each year.
